Domain 3: Claude Code
Claude Code for developers: rules, skills, commands, agents, memory, the CLAUDE.md hierarchy, settings.json, sessions and headless mode. 3.1% of CCDV-F.
This domain is 3.1% of CCDV-F, about 2 of the 53 questions, so one lesson covers it. Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent for the terminal and editors; the exam asks how it is configured and operated, not how to write code with it.
The core pieces are few. CLAUDE.md files hold instructions Claude Code reads at the start of a session, at user, project and directory level. settings.json holds configuration such as permissions. Slash commands and skills package repeatable instructions, and subagents run a task in their own context. Headless mode runs Claude Code from a script or pipeline without a person at the terminal.
The recurring test: put each instruction or setting at the level where it belongs, shared with the team in the repository or kept to one user, and know which feature fits a repeatable task.
