This Privacy Policy explains how Termidy collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our exam-preparation website for Anthropic Claude certifications at claude.termidy.com (the “Site”).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Free practice tests - no account, no collection
The public practice pages under /practice/ run entirely in your browser. Your answers and your score are held in the page while you use it and are discarded when you close the tab. They are never sent to us, and we do not set cookies or store anything on your device for these pages.
1.2 Account information
When you create an account on the Site, we collect:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Password (stored only as a salted hash - we never see it)
- Account creation date, last login, and account status
- Any optional profile details you choose to add (for example, country or city)
If you sign in through a third-party provider (for example, Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information - typically your name and email address - as permitted by your settings with that provider.
1.3 Study progress and usage data
To run the courses and show your progress, we collect:
- Quiz and exam-simulator attempts, including your answers and whether they were correct
- Scores, per-domain results, and which certification track the attempt belongs to
- Time spent on an attempt and when it started and finished
- Which course pages and activities you opened
This data is tied to your account so your progress is there when you come back.
1.4 Technical information
Our learning platform records, as part of its normal operation:
- IP address and approximate region
- Browser type and version, operating system, and language
- Dates and times of access, and server error logs
We use this to keep the Site secure, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.
1.5 Payments
Access to the courses is currently free and we do not process payments. If we introduce paid content in the future, payment card details would be handled by the payment provider, not by us, and this policy would be updated before that change takes effect.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and maintain your account and sign you in
- Deliver the question banks, exam simulators, explanations, and score reports
- Show your progress and per-domain results across sessions
- Send you account and service messages (registration confirmation, password reset, security notices)
- Send you email about our certification prep courses, including marketing messages (see section 3)
- Keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations
- Understand in aggregate which materials are useful, so we can improve them
3. Email Communications and How to Unsubscribe
When you create an account, we use your email address for two different kinds of message:
- Service messages - registration confirmation, password resets, and important notices about your account or the Site. These are required to operate your account, so they cannot be turned off while your account is open.
- Marketing messages - news about new question banks, new certification tracks, study tips, and offers. You can opt out of these at any time.
Every marketing email we send identifies Termidy as the sender, uses an accurate subject line, and includes our postal address and a working unsubscribe mechanism, as required by the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Canada, we only send marketing email where you have given the consent those laws require.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on these legal bases:
- Contract - to provide the account and courses you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests - to secure the Site, prevent abuse, and improve our materials.
- Consent - for marketing email, and for any optional processing that requires it.
- Legal obligation - where we must retain or disclose data by law.
You can withdraw consent at any time; withdrawing it does not affect processing carried out beforehand.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
5.1 What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your individual results with third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not share your data with Anthropic; we are not affiliated with them (see section 12).
5.2 Service providers
We share limited data with providers who help us run the Site:
- Hosting provider - stores the Site, its database, and backups
- Email delivery provider - sends account and marketing email on our behalf
- Google reCAPTCHA - used on the registration and login forms to block automated abuse; Google receives your IP address and interaction data under Google's privacy policy
- Sign-in providers - if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, that provider confirms your identity to us
These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
5.3 Legal requirements
We may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of Termidy, our users, or others.
6. Cookies
The Site uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies. The main one is a session cookie set by our learning platform when you sign in; it keeps you logged in as you move between pages and expires when your session ends. We also use a cookie to remember interface preferences such as language.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad trackers. Google reCAPTCHA (section 5.2) may set its own cookies on the registration and login pages. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block the session cookie you will not be able to sign in.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit
- Salted password hashing and restricted access to production systems
- Regular database backups
- Access controls limiting who on our team can view your data, for support and maintenance only
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information. Please use a strong, unique password, keep it confidential, sign out on shared devices, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
8. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary to:
- provide your account and the courses;
- comply with legal obligations;
- resolve disputes and enforce our terms.
If you ask us to delete your account:
- we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days;
- anonymized, aggregated statistics may be retained for product improvement;
- backup copies are removed on our normal backup rotation.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- Access - get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction - fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion - have your account and personal data deleted, subject to legal obligations.
- Restriction or objection - object to certain processing or ask us to limit it.

- Opt out of marketing - unsubscribe from marketing email at any time (section 3).
You can view and edit much of your profile in your account settings. For anything else, email us at admin@termidy.com.

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose;

- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information - we do not sell or share it;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise these rights, contact admin@termidy.com.
11. International Users and GDPR
If you are located outside the United States, your data may be processed in countries whose data-protection laws differ from those of your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Users in the EEA and UK can contact us at the address below with any GDPR question or request.
12. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and older students preparing for professional certification exams. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible. Parents or guardians who believe their child has given us personal information can contact us to request deletion.
