Domain 4: Workflow Integration and Solution Design
Claude beyond single prompts: requirements, research and planning, solution design, fitting it into workflows, and explaining it to stakeholders. 16% of CCAO-F.
This domain is 16% of CCAO-F, about 10 of the 60 questions. It moves from "how do I get a good answer" to "where does Claude belong in how my team works".
The key words are about roles. Augmenting a workflow means Claude helps people do a step better or faster while they stay in charge of it. Automating means a step runs without a person doing it. Redesigning means changing the process itself because Claude makes a different shape possible. A stakeholder is anyone the change affects or who has to approve it: a manager, a process owner, legal, the people who will use the result.
The recurring test: Claude prepares, people decide. Claude is good at mapping a process, drafting requirements, comparing options and finding patterns. Decisions with real consequences, such as changing a policy, staffing or anything that affects customers, stay with an accountable person, and complex technical builds go to Claude Architects and Developers. The right answer usually keeps a human approval step where the stakes are, without making the whole workflow manual.
